Remembering September 11, 2001

There are a great deal of powerful images associated with the attacks on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center,the attack on the Pentagon as well as the downed flight near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.  September 11th 2001 is a day that is burned into the memories of so many people.  They can remember what they were doing at the exact moment they found out about the attacks.    This terrible event brought so many people together and made Police and Fireman heroes.

According to CNN there was a total of 2,977  people were killed in New York City, Washington, DC and outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Timeline (from CNN):

The North Tower of the World Trade Center was hit at 8:46 a.m.

The South Tower of the World Trade Center was hit at 9:03 a.m.

The Pentagon Building was hit at 9:37 a.m.

South Tower of WTC collapsed within 10 seconds at 9:59 a.m.

Flight crashes in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania at 10:03 a.m.

North Tower of WTC collapsed at 10:28 a.m.
